In loving memory of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Devoted husband of Heather (Chris) for 55 years. Adored father of John and Carol. Cherished
grandfather of Jenna, Cherrie and Cameron.
With tears we saw you suffer
We watched you fade away
Our hearts were slowly breaking
As you fought so hard to stay
You did eventually leave us
But you did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
We do not part from those we love
No distance can divide
For every day in memory lane
We still walk side by side.
Remembering the Good Times
The first thing that I really remember about grandad is when he used to pick me and my sister up from school every Wednesday. We would have dinner together with the family and spend some valuable time together.
He (and nanna) would take care of us when we were sick from school and mum and dad had to work and would show us the computer programme that he had created - I think it was called stacks.
He would help us financially when we needed it and gave genourously.
One good memory that I have is when we would go over to the local Chicken Treat and get nuggets. He loved the nuggets from there, and so did I.
He liked to stick with what he knew he liked. Some examples would be lemon chicken when we had chinese and he loved his roast fillet of pork.
He and nanna would look after us when we were on holidays from school and would always have his afternoon nap, soon after lunch.
Although the past couple of years had been hard and full of worry, I will remember you for the good times that we had together. Remembering you for the great person that you were. Keeping the good memories and forgetting the bad.
I shed a tear as I write this memorial and hope that you rest in peace,0 Grandad.
Love,
Cameron
For a loving Father
Dear Dad,
I will always remember the good times we spent together as a family, going out occasionally as well as playing pool and games of scrabble, the times I spent helping you at the factory.
You were always a good honest loving father and will be greatly missed.
Lots of Love
Carol
Dear Dad
We will remember our dad as a hard working, selfless, honest and sensitive man who believed in doing the right thing by everyone. Someone we all looked up to and respected. Sadly his life became more and more difficult from his early 60's after he began to lose his sight due to macular degeneration. We almost lost him 2 years ago when he fell off a ladder sustaining many injuries. Since then he suffered more than anyone should have to bear.
It was very hard to watch so helplessly dad. We remember many good times and will cherish the memories forever. We all miss you very much. I keep wanting to call you for a chat. Rest easy now dad.
Love,
John
